Free MOOC course to help students learn online
back by popular demand after attracting more than
1,500 students and educators

Second cohort of five-week, self-paced “Learning to Learn Online” course
offered by Contact North I Contact Nord and Athabasca University
kicks off January 18, 2021

THUNDER BAY, ON – A free Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) to help students succeed in
their online learning is now back by popular demand.

Offered jointly by Contact North | Contact Nord and Athabasca University, Learning to Learn
Online (LTLO) introduces concepts and practices that are vital to successfully learning online.
The initial September offering of the course was so popular – attracting 1,541 students and
educators from 79 countries – that a January/February session is now available.

Students in the next cohort of LTLO can start any time after January 18. They must complete
the course no later than February 21, 2021.
The course is ideal for:

• Students learning online for the first time
• Students who want to improve their approach to online learning
• Teachers or education professionals who want to support their students in learning
  online

“The students and teachers who participated in the joint Contact North I Contact Nord and
Athabasca University MOOC course had to quickly learn how to pivot to online learning in the
middle of a pandemic,” says Sarah Gauvreau, Course Facilitator and Contact North | Contact

online learning, and we look forward to doing the same thing for our January cohort of
students and teachers.”
