The transition to a new culture and environment was daunting, but I was determined to build a better future for my family and myself. My first job in Canada was as a housekeeper at Deerhurst Resort, where I worked diligently while striving to improve my English and adapt to my new surroundings.

“One of my first steps was enrolling in ESL courses, which were instrumental in improving my language skills and boosting my confidence. These courses helped me communicate better and also played a crucial role in passing my driver’s licence exam, further enabling my independence in Canada.

With their guidance, I secured a position at De Novo Treatment Centre, where I began my career in addiction counselling. The support and encouragement I received from Contact North didn’t stop there; they continued to assist me in achieving my dream of becoming a licensed psychotherapist.

“Today, I am proud to say that I have fulfilled this dream. With my licence in hand, I am now part of the Pro Q Therapy team and actively involved in the Society of Cognitive Philosophy.
