(THUNDER BAY, ON) – Contact North | Contact Nord is pleased to announce the opening of an
online learning centre in Akwesasne on Thursday, January 18, 2018, located at 167 International Road, Unit 1. Residents of Akwesasne can now get a degree, diploma or certificate, or upgrade their skills online without leaving their community, through the services available from the online learning centre.
Contact North | Contact Nord offers the following services, at no charge, to residents of Akwesasne:

• Information on over 1,000 online programs and over 18,000 online courses from
  Ontario’s 24 public colleges, 22 public universities, 9 Aboriginal institutes, 76 district
  school boards, and 250 literacy and basic skills training providers
• Use of web conferencing, videoconferencing and audioconferencing distance
  learning platforms to connect to, and participate in, their programs and courses
• Use of computer workstations and high-speed Internet access to complete their fully
  online courses
• A quiet place to complete their course work
• Help with the registration process

Our local Online Learning Recruitment Officer, Emily Lavigne, is available to assist residents in
accessing online programs and courses to meet their individual needs, as well as provide
assistance with the registration process, information on financial aid and referrals to other local
support services. Students can also write their supervised exams and tests at the online learning
centre for a fee, where applicable.

Government of Ontario through the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development since
