Local MPP Welcomes Online Learning Centre in Richmond
Contact North | Contact Nord will help local residents train for good jobs without
leaving their community
(CARLETON) – Contact North | Contact Nord opened its newest online learning centre in
Richmond to help local residents get their degree, diploma, or certificate or upgrade their
skills without leaving their community.
Carleton MPP Goldie Ghamari officially welcomed the Richmond online learning centre
along with Ottawa City Councillor and Deputy Mayor George Darouze on March 16, 2022..
“No matter where they live, everyone in Carleton and Ottawa will have access to information, education and training,” Ghamari said. “Contact North will help people of all ages and backgrounds launch their careers, improve their skills or follow their personal interests.”
Access to education and training is key to economic success in our community, and
Contact North I Contact Nord will play a crucial role in helping community members
access education and training they need for the jobs they want. This new location is
beneficial socially and economically, giving local students a chance to improve their
knowledge and training, which will better position them for jobs in Ottawa and the
province.
“Today’s opening shows how our government is prioritizing the needs of hardworking
Ontarians who want to build a better future for themselves and for the next generation,”
Ghamari said.
Contact North | Contact Nord’s newest online learning centre gives residents access to a
variety of free services, including:
- Information on available online programs and courses from Ontario’s 9
Indigenous institutes, 24 public colleges, 25 public universities, 76 district school
boards, 200 literacy and basic skills providers, and 20 skills development training
providers - Help with registrations and funding options
- Free, in-person access to high-speed Internet, computers, web conferencing and
extended reality (XR) headsets and technical support

As an international trade lawyer, community volunteer and youth mentor, Ghamari
